12. Black Beauty
13. Guns and Roses
14. Florida Kilos
1. Cruel World - One of my favorite songs on the album, and its also the opening song, but personally i think its sounds more like a song that should end an album, as it is quite a powerful song, and usually albums end on a powerful song, but they also do start with a powerful song to get the album started, so it works either way, but the vibe i feel from it feels more like it should be the last track to finish it off.
Rate: 7/10
2. Ultraviolence - This song will give you goosebumps! The lyrics are so violent but beautiful and defiantly deserves to have a music video (i think that's happening at the moment) The song is quite slow but is an addictive song and also the album is named after this track! This was one song i literally had on replay, its beeaauuttiifuull!
Rate: 8/10
3. Shades of Cool - Her Second single from the Album! Also is an another fave and is the second song on the album with a music video! Her voice in this song is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G especially in the chorus and the guitar solo is just so rock! i love it! The music video is my fave out of all of em so check it out when you can!
Rate:9/10
4. Brooklyn Baby - This song is a favorite to alot of fans and will probably be a single from the album and get its own music video! This song was suppose to be a duet with Singer Lou Reed but sadly he died on the day of recording it! but her boyfriend Barry (now ex) starts to sing along at the end of the song which is pretty cool. but its personally not a favorite to me, but like i said, its very popular with alot of lana fans.
Rate: 7/10
5. West Coast - First song released from the album before album release! This song is quite slow and you kinda have to listen to it more than once to like it and understand it. i personally think she should of released a different song to represent Ultraviolence like Shades of Cool or Ultraviolence- but still, its a good song.
Rate:6/10

Marina and the Diamonds - Electra Heart Album
Electra Heart is the second studio album by Welsh recording artist Marina and the Diamonds; it was released on 27 April 2012 by 679 Artists and Atlantic Records. Diamandis intended to transition from the new wave musical styles seen throughout her debut studio album The Family Jewels (2010), and collaborated with producers including Liam Howe,Greg Kurstin, Dr. Luke, Diplo, and Stargate to achieve her desired new sound. Their efforts resulted in a concept album inspired by electropop music, a distinct departure from her earlier projects. Its lyrical content is united by the topics of love and identity; furthermore, Diamandis created the titular character "Electra Heart" to represent several female archetypes of stereotypical American culture.
Electra Heart was supported by three singles, all of which were supplemented by accompanying music videos. "Primadonna" was released as the lead single from the record on 20 March 2012, and peaked at number 11 on the UK Singles Chart. Follow-up singles "Power & Control" and "How to Be a Heartbreaker" were respectively released on 22 July and 7 December, and reached numbers 193 and 88 in the United Kingdom. The record was additionally promoted by Diamandis' headlining The Lonely Hearts Club Tour, which visited Europe and North America from May 2012 through May 2013.

After returning from the United States after the launch of her debut studio album The Family Jewels (2010), Diamandis considered creating a character which would become the centerpiece of her follow-up project. She commented that "I was starting to think about our Tumblr generation, and how photos appear on Tumblr and people become almost like mini-stars of the internet, and you don’t know who the hell they are – they’re just anonymous faces. So I started to take photos, and make an effort to look completely different in each one, in different hotels and apartments all across America when I was travelling. And it just started to build from that."The final product became "a cold, ruthless character who wasn't vulnerable"; she later detailed the character "Electra Heart" as "a vehicle to portray part of theAmerican Dream with elements of Greek tragedy", and added that visuals would merge the differing concepts into a cohesive idea.
In August 2011, Diamandis announced her then-upcoming project Electra Heart; it was initially planned to become a three-piece film inspired by American culture in the 1970s, although it eventually evolved into her second studio album. The track "Living Dead" was the first recorded during its production; approximately twenty-two songs were recorded for potential inclusion on the record. She later commented that the record was "an ode to dysfunctional love", elaborating that "rejection is a universally embarrassing topic and Electra Heart is my response to that."Diamandis stated that Electra Heart was influenced by recording artist Madonna, sex symbol Marilyn Monroe, and queen Marie Antoinette; she described the former as being "fearless" and felt that "it shows that [she doesn't] want to just have fame and success. [She wants] to be a successful artist."Diamandis expressed her intentions of highlighting "innocence being mixed with darkness", and cited recording artist Britney Spears as a "big influence" in that regard. She described the final product as being "a bit cringe" and reflective of her personal experiences, although noted that its promotional campaign would be "pink and fluffy"

Born to Die was officially released on January 31, 2012 worldwide, and reached number one in 11 countries, though critical reaction was divided. The same week, Del Rey said that she bought back the rights to her 2010 debut album, and had plans to re-release it in the summer of 2012 under Interscope Records and Polydor.Contrary to Del Rey's press statement, her previous record label and producer David Kahne have both stated that she bought the rights to the album when she and the label parted company, due to the offer of a new deal, in April 2010. Born to Die sold 3.4 million copies in 2012, making it the fifth-best-selling album of 2012. In the United States, Born to Die charted on the Billboard 200 album chart well into 2012, lingering at number 76, after 36 weeks on the chart.
In an interview with RTVE on June 15, 2012, Del Rey announced she has been working on a new album due in November, in an interview with Tim Blackwell for Nova FM in Melbourne, Australia, Del Rey added that her upcoming November release would not be a new album, but more like an EP. Del Rey's Paradise Edition of Born to Die was set to be released on November 12. With the release of her third EP, Paradise, Del Rey spawned her second top 10 album in the United States, debuting at number 10 on the Billboard 200 with 67,000 copies sold in its first week. Marina Diamandis - Early Life♥
Marina Lambrini Diamandis (born 10 October 1985), known by her stage name Marina and the Diamonds, is a Welsh singer-songwriter and musician. In 2009, she was ranked for second place on the Sound of 2010 poll organized by BBC. Diamandis released her debut studio album The Family Jewels in 2010, and launched her second full-length Electra Heart in 2012.
Diamandis' musical style ranges from keyboard-based ballads to more up-tempo new wave-style songs with full band backing. She has cited a wide range of influences such as Daniel Johnston, Blondie, Kylie Minogue, The Distillers, Patti Smith, Tom Waits, Garbage, Nirvana, PJ Harvey, Kate Bush, Britney Spears, Yann Tiersen, Elliott Smith, Dolly Parton,Fiona Apple, Shakira, and Madonna. Her stage name consists of Diamandis' first name and the translation of her surname, which means "Diamonds" in Greek. "The Diamonds" are not her backing band, but a reference to her fans.
Diamandis was born Marina Lambrini Diamandis (Greek: Μαρίνα-Λαμπρινή Διαμάντη, pronounced [ðʝaˈmadi]) in Abergavenny, Monmouthshire, Wales. Her father is Greek and her mother is Welsh, and she was brought up in the village of Pandy with her parents and her older sister, Lafina. She attendedHaberdashers' Monmouth School for Girls, of which she said "I sort of found my talent there... I was the one who always skived off choir, but I had an incredible music teacher who managed to convince me I could do anything."When her parents separated, Diamandis moved to Greece when she was sixteen to live with her father, and attended St. Catherine's British Embassy School, in Athens but returned to Wales two years later.
Diamandis moved to London at eighteen where she attended dance school for two months.Following this, in 2005 she took a one year singing course at Tech Music Schools. Diamandis enrolled in a music degree at the University of East London, transferring in her second year of studies to Middlesex University, but later dropped out. She went for many auditions including the West End musical, The Lion King. Diamandis admitted that she auditioned for a reggae boy band, held by Virgin Records, in 2005 to try to make it into the music business. She said she was "delusional with drive" and ultimately decided to dress up in male attire to try to amuse the record label to sign her, but she was unsuccessful. However, she was called back by the record label a week later.
Diamandis has a synaesthetic condition that involves seeing musical notes and days of the week in different colours.
In 2005, Diamandis created the name "Marina and the Diamonds".When describing the origin of the name, she said: "I never envisaged a character, pop project, band or solo artist. I saw a simple group made up of many people who had the same hearts. A space for people with similar ideals who could not fit in to life's pre-made mould. I was terribly awkward for a long time! I really craved to be part of one thing because I never felt too connected to anybody and now I feel I have that all around me."
Early demos of Marina and the Diamonds' songs were self-composed and produced on the Apple software application GarageBand. Through Gumtree she found someone to produce a few tracks, for which she paid £500.These demo tracks are on her self-released debut EP Mermaid vs. Sailor which was released on 23 November 2007. The record was created on hand-made CD-Rs by Diamandis and sold through her MySpace page. An estimated seventy copies were sold overall.
In January 2008, Diamandis was first discovered by music scouter Derek Davies of Neon Gold Records. Davies booked Diamandis to open for Belgian-Australian singer Gotye later that year where Warner Music Group first saw her and ended up signing her in October 2008 to 679 Recordings. Diamandis' debut single was a double A-side consisting of "Obsessions" and "Mowgli's Road" which was issued on Neon Gold Records in the United States on 19 November 2008, followed by her second extended play The Crown Jewels EP on 1 June 2009 featuring her second single "I Am Not a Robot". Her first major label single, a re-recording of "Mowgli's Road", was released on 13 November 2009 under 679 Recordings in the UK and through Atlantic Records in the USA. On 7 December 2009 she was listed on the longlist for the BBC Sound of 2010 poll, and on 7 January 2010 it was announced that she had taken second place.

Early Life
Lana Del Rey was born Elizabeth Woolridge Grant in New York City on June 21, 1986, to former Grey Group copywriter turned entrepreneur, Rob Grant, and former Grey account executive, Pat Grant. She is of Scottish descent, and has two younger siblings.Del Rey grew up in Lake Placid, New York until age 15, when she was sent to Kent School, a boarding school in Connecticut, for three years to deal with her alcohol dependence.Around age 18, she moved to The Bronx to attend Fordham University, studying a branch of philosophy known as metaphysics because "it bridged the gap between God and science. I was interested in God and how technology could bring us closer to finding out where we came from and why."She said, "that was when my musical experience began. I kind of found people for myself." She stayed in the Bronx for four years and Brooklyn for another four years.
She began singing in the church choir when she was a child. After her uncle taught her how to play the guitar when she was 18, she "realized [that she] could probably write a million songs with those six chords," and she began performing in nightclubs around the city under various names such as Sparkle Jump Rope Queen and Lizzy Grant and the Phenomena."I was always singing, but didn't plan on pursuing it seriously. When I got to New York City when I was 18, I started playing in clubs in Brooklyn—I have good friends and devoted fans on the underground scene, but we were playing for each other at that point—and that was it."
